How to select DataTable scenarios for training
If you are creating a new browser, mobile, or API test, take the following steps to choose a DataTable scenario:
- Expand the Optional configurations section
- Select a DataTable
- Check "Populate data-driven variables from a DataTable during training"
- Select a DataTable and scenario for training
- Click on the Create test button
Associating a new browser test with a DataTable
If you are editing an existing browser, mobile, or API test, take the following steps to choose a DataTable scenario:
- Navigate to the test details page of the test you would like to edit.
- Click on the Edit steps button. The edit test configuration modal will appear.
- Make sure the toggle "Populate data-driven variables from a DataTable" is enabled.
- Select the DataTable and scenario for training.
- Launch the training session:
- For browser and mobile tests, click the Launch Trainer button.
- For API tests, click the Launch API Test Editor button.
You may also launch the mabl Trainer with the DataTable scenario used in a specific test run. From the test output page, click on the Edit test button and select either "Launch Trainer" or "Launch and replay to failed step." This option makes it easier to investigate and debug a test run.
How to check scenario values during a training session
To check the scenario values in the mabl Trainer, take the following steps:
- Click on the {x} variables button
- Select "Manage variables"
The manage variables modal shows the DataTable scenario and values used for the current training session.
