Workspace owners can configure the user session duration for their team, which defines the amount of time a user can be logged in before mabl will require re-authentication.
Why adjust session duration
You might choose to update your team's session duration for one of the following reasons:
- Fewer logins - set a longer duration, up to 72 hours, to limit the time your team spends re-authenticating into mabl.
- Security - teams in more regulated industries can set a specific session duration, as short as 30 minutes, to comply with company security requirements
How to configure
On the workspace page - Settings > Workspace - workspace owners can configure the session duration for all users within their company. Non-workspace owners can view session duration, but they cannot alter it.
Scope and impact
Session duration is a company-wide setting that applies to all users of all workspaces that belong to your company. If your account has multiple workspaces, changing the session duration in one workspace will update the session duration in the other workspaces, regardless of whether you are an owner in those other workspaces.
Session duration impacts all user sessions for the mabl web app, Desktop App, and CLI. It does not impact mabl CLI or Link sessions authenticated by API key.
Session expiration
Before your user session expires, the mabl app gives a warning notification and prompts you to re-authenticate so that you don't lose unsaved work in progress.
Access for trial users
Session duration is enabled by default for customers. Trial users that are interested in this feature can reach out via in-app chat or directly to your mabl contact to gain access.
