This article explains how to set up the mabl integration for Jira Server and Data Center.
Already have your Jira Server integration configured?
Visit the article on creating and linking issues in Jira.
Create the integration
In the mabl mabpp, go to Settings > Integrations and click on the Setup button for Jira Server. You must be a workspace owner to set up the Jira Server integration.
On the form to add the integration, mabl generates an "Issue tracker" API key and an integration ID. Save these values to configure the integration in Jira.
Configure the plugin
Only Jira admins, with access to all projects, can install the mabl Jira Server plugin.
Visit the Atlassian marketplace listing for the mabl Automated Testing for Jira app to set up the integration. Go to the "Manage add-ons" or "Manage apps" page in Jira and click on "mabl Settings to configure integration settings:
- API key: Enter the "Issue tracker" API key from the mabl app
- Integration ID: Enter the integration ID from the mabl app
To configure the plugin to work with multiple mabl workspaces, add an API key and integration ID for each additional workspace and click Save.
Network settings
If your company uses a web proxy to connect to the Internet, you can use the Network Settings section to configure the mabl plugin to use your existing proxy configuration to connect to the mabl cloud.
Connecting to mabl
Your Jira Server instance, or the configured proxy that your Jira Server instance uses, must be able to establish outbound (egress) connection to api.mabl.com
(IP 34.111.95.218) over port 443 (HTTPS) in order for the integration to work.
The mabl plugin polls the mabl API every few minutes to get updates on newly created issues in mabl and to send updates on Jira issue statuses back to mabl.
Jira project configuration
After installing the plugin and configuring network settings, identify which Jira Projects mabl users will choose from when they create Jira issues in mabl. Go to the settings for each Jira project and enable the "Use in mabl" toggle.
Configuring a Jira project to work with the mabl integration.
All Jira projects configured to work with mabl are listed on the mabl plugin settings page, where you may also change or disable the mabl plugin.
