When you maintain an automated test suite collaboratively, it’s important to understand how all team’s efforts contribute to the end result. To assist with this effort, we added two new ways to track test authoring activity in the mabl app:
With these new options, you can see who is building coverage and when the work is happening, helping you form a more complete picture of your team’s development lifecycle.
Test authoring activity by user
Workspace owners can review test authoring activity at the workspace and account level to understand individual contributions and identify top contributors:
- In the mabl app, go to the usage page: Settings > Usage.
- Set the time period: select “Yearly” or “Monthly” and a specific period of time.
- Review a list of active users in the Workspace users tab, located about halfway down the page.
Active users are sorted in descending order based on their total test authoring activities for the defined time period.
Updated and new tests over time
Review updated and new tests over time to identify spikes in edits and maintenance bottlenecks:
- Go to Coverage > Overview in the mabl app.
- Expand Filters and define a time range.
- Scroll down to the bottom of the Quality metrics tab to review Test authoring activity for the defined range.
