As part of our ongoing efforts to implement more comprehensive access control in the mabl app, we're happy to share that resource groups now support DataTables!
With resource groups, your team can manage access and permissions for both credentials and DataTables on a more granular level. The benefits of managing access with resource groups include:
- Improved security: restrict access to resources that contain sensitive information to specific workspace users
- Improved collaboration: lower the chances of unintentional changes by limiting editing permissions on resources to certain users
Adding a new DataTable to a resource group
How it works
If you're new to resource groups, the following steps outline the workflow for managing access to DataTables and credentials through resource groups:
- Create a new resource group in Settings > Resource groups.
- Grant access to the resource group to selected workspace members.
- Add DataTables and/or credentials to the resource group.
If a user is not a member of a resource group, they can see that the DataTables or credentials exist, but they cannot view, edit, delete, or use them.
A DataTable with restricted access
DataTables and credentials that are not part of a resource group are considered shared resources. All members of the workspace can access them to the extent that their workspace role allows.
