When we released agentic runtime recovery in early access last week, runtime recovery mode was a workspace-wide setting: either on for all plans or off for all plans. Now you can override the workspace default on individual plans, giving you more control over where runtime recovery runs.
Retirement of runtime recovery
As of August 3, 2026, runtime recovery is off in all workspaces. Based on the outcomes from the early access program, we've decided to take a different approach to this issue so you can get failed runs back to passing faster, with less time spent sorting through results. Learn more.
The new setting lives in the Advanced section of the plan edit form. By default, plans inherit the mode set at the workspace level, but you can override it in either direction:
- Roll out gradually: Set your workspace default to “Off” under Settings > Workspace, then switch specific plans to “Fail at end” to try runtime recovery on a few plans first.
- Opt out selectively: Set your workspace default to “Fail at end,” then switch specific plans to “Off” where you don’t want recovery attempts.
Try it out
- Enable Runtime Recovery under Settings > Labs.
- Set your preferred workspace default under Settings > Workspace: “Fail at end” or “Off.”
- Open a plan and click on the edit pencil.
- Scroll to the Advanced section at the bottom.
- Select a runtime recovery mode from the dropdown, or leave it as “Inherit from workspace” to use the workspace default.
- Save the plan.
