To provide better visibility and control over the test planning process, we’re happy to introduce two new tools to the mabl MCP:
- #plan_new_test: plan a new browser test based on requirements.
- #create_mabl_test_from_plan: create a mabl browser test according to your provided test plan.
These two new tools are the equivalent of using the mabl Test Creation Agent to plan out a browser test from your AI client. Starting with #plan_new_test, you can iteratively build an outline for your test with your AI client. When the outline aligns with your goals, call on the #create_mabl_test_from_plan tool to launch the mabl Trainer and generate test steps according to your plan.
Advanced AI add-on
These tools are available for accounts with the Advanced AI add-on. Reach out to your customer success manager to learn more.
Try it out
Start with a description of what you want to test and indicate that you’d like to plan a mabl test. For example:
“I want to test the login for my app, considering scenarios for both valid and invalid users. Let’s plan a new mabl test.”
When you submit a prompt, the mabl agent searches your workspace for related flows and snippets that might be useful for your test. Using this context and its understanding of existing tests in your workspace, the agent builds a test outline. If the outline doesn’t align with your goals, send followup messages with your corrections and refinements.
Once you are happy with the generated plan, use the #create_mabl_test_from_plan tool to start building out the test in the Trainer:
“Okay, that looks good. Let’s create a new mabl test using this plan.”
