Running mabl tests against Safari (WebKit) on the Unified Runner is now generally available! Compared to Safari tests executed on the Legacy Runner, tests run on Safari (WebKit) Unified enjoy a number of benefits, including:
- Faster startup and run times
- Greater consistency between test training and test execution
- Intelligent wait
- Higher concurrency limits for tests running in parallel
Safari (WebKit) is available for trial users and customers on Growth and Enterprise plans

Migrating to Safari (WebKit)
Safari (WebKit) is the default option for all new plans created after May 15, 2023. For a limited period of time, accounts created before May 15, 2023 may run tests on Safari (WebKit) or Safari Legacy. These options will remain available for these accounts at both the plan level and as a bulk action through the migration workflow.
If you opted into the Safari (WebKit) Early Access program, your plans will continue to run on Safari (WebKit) on the Unified Runner. If you did not opt into the Safari (WebKit) Early Access program, existing plans using Safari Legacy will begin defaulting to Safari (WebKit) on May 15, 2023.
Safari Legacy enters an end-of-support phase on May 15, 2023 and will be formally retired on July 3, 2023. During this time, we encourage all existing customers to migrate any outstanding plans that run tests on Safari Legacy to Safari (WebKit) on the Unified Runner.
For more information, check out our guides on the Unified Runner, Migrating to the Unified Runner, and multibrowser support.
Tests run with the Safari (WebKit) browser begin counting towards your workspace's monthly run allocation as of May 15, 2023 and on all future billing cycles.
