If you and your team are testing multiple applications on multiple environments, you might not always want to see your plans, tests, and results from an application you're not working in at that moment. Or, your workspace may have an application you don't regularly work with, if at all. Within mabl, you have the ability to filter your Dashboard page, Results page, Plans page, and Tests page by a specific, or multiple, applications.
These filters can be toggled on-and-off and will persist between sessions, even after logging out. Additionally, filters are per-user. This means that if one user sets a workspace filter, it will only affect the data they view, and not the data of every member of the workspace.
If you have two or more applications in your workspace, you'll see the "Application Filter" up at the top of the header towards the right. Click this, and you'll see a dropdown that lets you toggle the filter on and off, clear the existing filter, and select individual applications to filter. By default, no applications are filtered. As soon as you click an app, the filter activates and will start only showing data for that app. You can add as many applications as you would like to this filter, just click the name of the ones you'd like to filter.
Currently, filtering is only supported on the Dashboard page, Results page, Plans page, and Tests page. Filtering of the Insights page, the Visual Explorer, and the Coverage page is currently not supported. Additionally, your workspace reporting, via Slack or email, will not be filtered when a filter is active.
Filtering tests without plans
It is important to note that tests that lack a plan, created with the "No Plan" option or removed from all existing plans, will not appear in the Tests page when an application filter is active. This is because the test is no longer associated with an application, and thus will be excluded. You must turn the filter off to view these tests.
